I am Daisy Mae. A proud MAEldita with a heart! I am already 42 years old and I play Mobile Legends. Yup! I love playing ML! I’ve been playing for a while now. My usual teammates are my teenage kids. You would always find us giggling at our phones. it’s fun pero nakakastress at times! Lumalabas pagka maldita ko sa mga toxic players but that’s okay since this is our favorite bonding activity.

My two boys mean the world to me. My eldest, Keith is now 21 years old and I had him when I was in my 4th year of college. Kim, my youngest, is 16 years old and a senior high school student. Raising two boys is no joke! But I’m a cool mom. I’m okay with my kids playing games on their phones basta nasa lugar at naka schedule! I mean, I get to enjoy playing games and spending time with my teenage boys at the same time diba? Talk about a win-win situation!

On my rest days aside from ML, I also like reading books, playing volleyball, playing word games, crocheting and I love going out with friends. I consider myself a wanderlust who seeks adventure. But at the same time, I am also a homebody. I guess you could say I’m both. And during weekdays, I am a call center agent!

It has been 8 years since I became a part of the industry. I am a licensed physical therapist, but back then there weren’t many opportunities for PTs. I am confident with my speaking skills, so I figured I might as well try my luck and apply for a job in a call center. I was fortunate enough to receive a job offer and was hired. I have been with the industry ever since.

My officemates’ first impression of me is that I am maldita and strict. Well, I am. I think this is why I relate to and love the character of Vivian in my favorite movie, “Pretty Woman”. Like her, I can be a blunt person but I am also an emotional and sentimental person. I love meeting new people and making friends! I treat people the way they treat me. I am good to those who are good to me. My best friend, Dara, who I met in the company and is basically my twin because we do everything together, can attest to this! Swear! I am most thankful that I have a job but also because I am working with people I get along with! My officemates are good people who celebrate and support each other. Plus! I also have my weekends as my rest days. So yeah! I DO love my job and I miss everybody!

I haven’t seen my team since the start of the pandemic. My company was very considerate and allowed us to work from home. Minsan I can’t help but miss what it was like before the pandemic. Not leaving the house can be very frustrating. But it is what it is. I tell myself na, at least I don’t have to commute, I don’t have to dress up, that we have a roof over our heads and most importantly my family is together and safe.

The pandemic has taught me many things. One is of course that we must never disregard one’s health. I am very mindful of my health na now because I cannot work if I’m sick. That we must value life as it can be taken away in an instant. And most importantly, I was able to do a lot of self-reflection. I realized that I am not a perfect person. That I have my flaws and that is okay. Because we can do better and improve every single day. I am delighted to say that I have never been more proud of myself than I am now.

My hope for the future is to be happy. I am joyful when I can do things with my family. I will be happy if my children grow up kind because what goes around comes around. I will be happy if my family sees me as a role model and as an inspiration to never give up. I’ve already been through a lot in my life. And this pandemic is just another hurdle in the way. We have to adapt and adjust. I hope everyone who reads this gains peace and happiness! And tara pa rank up na tayo!
